Marina Pacheco, Tiago Matos & Pedro Costa
À la joie! …
Marina Pacheco (soprano), Tiago Matos (baritone) and Pedro Costa (pianist) meet on stage in order to make a toast to the musical genius of several composers, whose birth and death anniversaries are celebrated each year, in a project started in 2017.
Willing to annually honor different classical composers through their music for voice and piano or piano solo, the starting point is always the celebration of ephemerides, contributing to keep alive the memory of these names of the History of Music.
The first tour took place in 2017 in Portugal, Belgium and France, with the support of Fundação GDA. Performing in Palácio Foz, Art Base, Atelier Marcel Hastir among others, the first group of concerts ended at Casa da Música, in Porto, with a crowded audience.

In 2018 the Trio took part of Festival Xiquitsi’s Artistic Program, coordinating also pedagogical activities which culminate with a semi-staged concert with the students of Projecto Xiquitsi. The performances took place at Teatro Avenida and Auditório Montebelo Indy, in Maputo (Mozambique).
2019 brought a new element to the ensemble: the tenor and director Paulo Lapa. “Orphée aux Enfers” by J. Offenbach and a Concert called “Ri-te como Jacques” were the main productions. For the first time, since the debut, À la joie had the opportunity to dedicate part of the program to a contemporary composer of immense importance in the Portuguese musical scene for his compositional activity, but also for his position as director of Festival Jovens Músicos: Luís Tinoco.
Also in 2019 the Trio was one of the finalists of Prémio Ageas/ Casa da Música, which took place at Sala Suggia (Casa da Música).
In 2021 À la joie premiered “Templo do Infinito”, written for the ensemble by the Portuguese composer Eduardo Luís Patriarca and presented in a tour in Portugal.
This project is a kind of toast… A celebration of a legacy… An endless sharing of memories…
